Getting Started

Consultation Call

It all starts with a phone call! We’ll chat for 10-15 minutes about your goals, needs, and the kind of support you’re looking for. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions you may have. Once the call is completed, you can expect to receive an intake package with some questionnaires and practice policies. No worries if it ever gets confusing — we’re with you every step of the way!

What to Expect: Your First Session

Once the paperwork is completed, it’s time to get started! You have the opportunity to attend therapy in-person or online, so you’ll have access to therapy no matter where you are in Florida. This session is all about getting to know each other to help you feel ready to tackle your goals. Don’t worry—this is a conversation! As we talk, you can expect to be treated with compassion, respect, and understanding. We’ll typically cover what’s bringing you to therapy, a bit more about you, and any relevant clinical history.

Ongoing Support

After your first session, we’ll work together to develop a treatment plan that fits your needs. Therapy is a collaborative and dynamic process, and no two sessions are typically alike. No matter what you’re experiencing and bringing in, you’ll have the opportunity to work through stressors, build healthier relationships, develop skills, and learn resilience strategies to help you cope. Finally, though weekly therapy is most common, the frequency of your 60 minute sessions will depend on your own goals, ensuring your treatment is tailored to you and revolves around personalized care.

Insurance and Payment Options

To help make therapy more accessible and affordable, we work with most major insurance plans, offer reduced fee appointments, and also accept private pay options for those without insurance or who prefer more flexibility in their therapy.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • I scheduled a consultation - now what??

I’m looking forward to speaking with you! While you wait, it can be helpful to jot down some notes on what’s bringing you to therapy, as well as what some of your goals are

  • Can I use insurance to pay for therapy?

Yes! To help make therapy more accessible and affordable, I take Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, Oscar, Oxford, and Optum at this time.

  • How much does therapy cost?

Without insurance, the price for a 60 minute therapy session is $125. If this is too expensive for you right now, you may qualify for a reduced cost fee. We can also reduce the session frequency to help make therapy more affordable for you!

  • What's your therapeutic style?

My priority is what you bring into the room, which may be different every appointment. You can be sure that whether you’re ready to talk about trauma or TV shows, I’m fully invested and will always value, respect, and care about you and every single thing you bring into the session. I will never judge you or treat you differently, and I truly believe my job is to help you see yourself like I see you — as an incredible human who is doing their best.

  • Is teletherapy as effective as in person?

Yes! Virtual therapy can be just as effective as in person therapy. Teletherapy is especially beneficial for those who prefer care in the comfort of their own home. It can also be more accessible to squeeze a session in during a lunch break, a child's nap time, or in between classes.

  • How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Reach out! Consultations are free, 10 minute calls and completely non-committal. We can talk about what you’re experiencing and what the process of therapy might look like for someone in your shoes. You’ll be able to decide if this is something you’re interested in moving forward with. You are also free to pause therapy appointments anytime if now ends up not being convenient for you.

  • What is your theoretical orientation?

I believe therapy is a dynamic conversation and that you should leave each appointment feeling lighter and having grown in some way. My worldview and treatment methods are primarily informed by Adlerian, Psychodynamic, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) skills. We’ll use the time to talk about how you’re feeling and what may be interfering with your ability to reach your goals.
